The discrepancy points to a female based religious system. Unusual protruding ear ornaments. The figure likely represents a male ancestor. On reverse a second "ghost figure" is apparent. Support holes are the eyes, buttocks roundels the nose and legs the mouth. Made from a jasper like stone. Provenance: Larry Roberts, author of Taino Sculpture: Art of the Gods.
